activeClean® turns food remnants into ash that can be easily wiped away using extremely high temperatures–a process known as pyrolysis. Simply remove any loose remnants, select the self-cleaning function, and the built-in oven does the rest. 

What to consider when buying an built-in oven

Size and capacity for your kitchen space

It is important to choose a built-inoven that has sufficient cooking space but also fits the space available in your kitchen. For seamless built-in kitchen designs, there are more possibilities than the standard 60 x 60 cm niche for the oven.

Width and height dimensions and interior volume of Siemens ovens:

  • Standard size: 60cm x 60cm (71 litres)
  • Compact ovens: 60cm x 45cm (47 litres)
  • XL models: 90cm x 48cm (85 litres)

For built-in kitchen designs, another option is to combine multiple 60cm wide appliances next to each other in a horizontal row. For example with a built-in steamer and built-in microwave next to the oven, to give you more cooking options and capacity, if required.

Standalone vs combi-ovens

With a range of heating modes for all types of dishes, Siemens' convection built-in ovens provide a complete cooking solution for any sized kitchen and household. However, for built-in kitchen designs, these appliances can also be combined in one seamlessly designed row with a built-in steamer and built-in coffee machine to give you more cooking options and capacity, if required.

Built-in multi-function ovens are an excellent space-saving alternative that gives you more cooking options in one appliance. Our built-in ovens with microwave functionality and built-in steam ovens (which combine hot air with steam) are available in a range of sizes.

Heating modes and functions

Siemens' built-in ovens offer a range of standard and specialised heat settings for every type of dish.

  • 4D hotAir is ideal for baking and roasting all types of food, using up to four levels. The fan motor technology ensures even heat distribution throughout the oven interior. 
  • Hot air gentle and hot air eco is perfect for slow cooking poultry and smaller cuts of meat without preheating.
  • The bottom-only mode is ideal for preserving, browning, and the final baking stage.top/bottom mode is used to gently cook selected food types on one level.
  • You have three settings for grilling, the small grill area, large grill area, and hot air grilling.

There are also many specialised functions, including coolStart–for the quick preparation of frozen food without preheating–and settings for pizza, slow cooking, drying, defrosting, microwaving, and more. 

Cooking and baking methods

Siemens built-in convection ovens use fans to distribute dry heat evenly. Convection heating cooks faster and more evenly and is ideal for all forms of baking, broiling, grilling, and roasting vegetables or large cuts of meat.

Selected built-in oven models include microwave functionality. This can be used to defrost and reheat dishes, or combined with hot air to speed up roasting and baking.

Cooking with steam is faster than conventional ovens and healthier too. This method retains more moisture, making it suitable for almost every type of food and especially useful for baking bread that is crispy on the outside and perfectly soft inside.
