How to clean the washing machine detergent drawer?
After the washing cycle, detergent or fabric softener residues may remain in the detergent drawer or on its housing. Maintaining a clean detergent drawer will allow the washing machine to effectively dispense detergent and fabric softener into the drum.
Washing machines come with self-cleaning detergent drawers as standard, which have smooth walls and jets sprays in each corner which automatically flush the detergent chambers clean of any remaining detergent residue, saving you the time and effort of manually cleaning the detergent drawer on a regular basis.
For washing machines without iDos, if you do however need to remove any stubborn residues from the detergent drawer or its housing it’s recommended following the steps below for a thorough clean.
Step by step guide: Cleaning the washing machine detergent drawer
1. Remove the detergent drawer from the washing machine by operating the middle lock and sliding it out.
2. Allow the detergent drawer to soak in a wash basin and remove any stubborn residues with a cleaning cloth or small brush such as a toothbrush and dry it afterwards. Clean the inside of the housing as well.
3. Dry the detergent drawer thoroughly and slide the detergent drawer back into the housing.
4. Leave the door and detergent dispenser tray open slightly when the washing machine is not in use so that any residual water can evaporate.

CAUTION: The detergent drawer contains electronic components, which may be damaged if they come into contact with water. It is therefore important that you do not wash the cover in the dishwasher or immerse it in water, and that the connector at the back of the drawer does not get wet or comes into contact with detergent.
